Three Four visual editions,
made for every screen
Every production presents the verses as they appear in the Madinah Mushaf, with verse-by-verse highlighting that follows the recitation.
Each chapter is published in four visual editions, with high-resolution graphics and clear, legible text designed for screens of every size, from mobile phones to large 4K televisions.
By the mercy of Allah, we have developed a tajweed overlay system for the Madinah Mushaf. This implementation preserves the Qur'an word glyphs exactly as released by the KFGQPC and respectfully references Dar al-Maarifah’s distinguished system with a customisable colour palette.
What your funding enables
Each production begins with an existing recording of a Qur’an recitation.
Your funding supports the work required to prepare that recording for release: audio processing, recitation review, verse-by-verse timing marks, re-review of the verse-by-verse audio, Qur’an text verification, translations in 56 languages formatted as subtitles, graphical asset generation, chapter-by-chapter rendering, playback review, and multi-step publishing.
The end result is a follow-along video series that anyone with an internet connection can watch, listen to, and read along with. Your contribution makes its publication possible, while the entire collection remains a gift to the Ummah: freely available, unmonetized, and without any claim of ownership by either you or us.
The production process
Production progresses through the Qur’an one part (juz) at a time. As soon as each part is complete, its chapters are rendered, reviewed and scheduled for publication while work continues on the remaining parts.
- Audio processing: The source recording is verified and carefully processed to meet modern playback standards, including normalization, reverb reduction for improved clarity, and static noise removal.
- Recitation review: Each chapter’s audio is checked at normal playback speed against the Qur’anic text, to confirm that no verses or words are missing.
- Verse-by-verse timing marks: Each verse is marked as cleanly as possible to avoid overlap. If the reciter repeats a verse, every repetition is retained. If the reciter restarts from an earlier verse, overlapping audio is carried forward into the succeeding verse rather than backward into the preceding one.
- Audio re-review: Once the verse-by-verse marks are made, the same check is repeated on the verse-by-verse audio, confirming that nothing is amiss.
- Qur’an text verification: The Arabic text of every verse is checked for accuracy before it is used in the video.
- Subtitles: Translation subtitle tracks are prepared in 56 languages and synchronized with the recitation. The translations are sourced from QuranEnc.com and updated as necessary to reflect any revisions to the source material.
- Graphical asset generation: Frames are generated for all four visual editions, with a unique image for every verse showing its verse number, part number, and page number.
- Chapter-by-chapter rendering: As each chapter is completed, its videos are rendered in the order it appears in the Qur’an.
- Final playback review: Every finished chapter is watched in full by a human at normal playback speed.
- Multi-step publishing: Reviewed videos are uploaded to YouTube with their titles, thumbnails, metadata, descriptions and, finally, subtitles. Publishing begins as soon as videos from the first completed part are ready and continues while the remaining parts are still in production.
This represents about 200 hours of human work and 300 hours of machine time, including 50 hours dedicated to uploading videos and translation subtitles for each production.
What happens after funding
Your production is scheduled for the month shown on the payment page. You will receive an email when the first videos go live, and a second when the production is complete and all 456 videos are published with their translations, in-shaa-Allah.
You can follow the work at any time on the production status page, which updates automatically as each stage completes.
Timeline
| Production length, from start to final upload | About 5-7 weeks |
|---|---|
| Publishing schedule, once uploading begins | About 31 days |
Timelines are estimates for a production of this size and may vary considerably. Each production is scheduled for a specific month; available recitations and months are shown on the payment page.
Unimaginable rewards
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah receives a good deed, and that each good deed is multiplied tenfold, explaining that alif is a letter, lam is a letter, and mim is a letter as conveyed by at-Tirmidhi.
A complete recitation of the Qur’an therefore carries an immense reward, and this production presents that recitation across four visual editions.
Because the videos remain freely available online, we intend and hope they become a source of ongoing charity for you. Whenever someone uses them to recite, listen, read along, memorise, or complete a recitation of the Qur’an, you have a share in the reward of helping make that possible.
There are no ads, so the recitation is never interrupted.
You may also fund this with the intention of charity on behalf of someone who has passed away, just as certain acts of worship and charity may be performed on behalf of the deceased, including pilgrimage as established in Bukhari and Muslim.
Acknowledgment
Each funded production carries a single line of acknowledgment:
This production was funded by [Name].
The acknowledgment appears at the end of the video descriptions. It does not appear inside the Qur’an video content itself.
You may choose what appears as the name:
- An individual name
- A family name
- An organization name
- Anonymous
